The Sunshine Doughnut Co. opened its beautiful doors on 08 July 2016. From the Mom & Pop (Kimberley & Bartholomew Nadherny) that brought Downtown Burlington SON OF A PEACH PIZZERIA, Sunshine has become the leader in old fashioned, classic hand - crafted doughnuts. Our foundation hones the mantra of slow food, a movement that believes in supporting local and using time honoured techniques that simply, takes time. The food that we produce sets the benchmark for quality and flavour in an environment that is warm and welcoming.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
‘Sunshine’ was chosen for many reasons, but most importantly, Kim is from Sunny Southern California. As an artist and designer, she fell in love with the architecture that housed over 35 years of Chinese food (formally Mr. Ho Choi’s Chinese Food) and had a vision for a landmark that would put Canada on an unexpected map. Bart, a classically trained chef, is the genius behind slow food (having one of the most prestigious culinary and slow food movement degrees in the US and Italy) — creates, with no apologies, the foundation of classic, good food that we want to simply, share and enjoy.
